This pot rest is an example of the rich cultural heritage of Japan and its many folkcrafts. Handcrafted using akebia vine, it is not only durable but has a rustic appearance giving it a humble charm. Akebia is native to the mountains of Yamagata Prefecture making this product a representation of the region’s rich natural resources.
The pot rest is made in collaboration with skilled artisans of Sakichil – an organization that takes pride in passing down the techniques and traditions of folk tools, ensuring that they are not lost to history. Apart from its functional use in the kitchen, this pot rest can also serve as a beautiful interior decoration, bringing with it a touch of both nature and tradition.
