Nikko Jirushi was established in 1905 as a shuniku (red ink) stamp pad manufacturer to accompany hanko (a name stamp for identification and signing legal documents). Their shuniku features a light fragrance and has long been used in offices to sign documents. The sixth-generation CEO, Kuzuwa Kentaro, noticed a correlation between the ingredients utilized for shuniku and those used for creating fragrances. This led him to develop the fragrance brand, EDIT(h), as a playful, wearable form of self-expression and identity, like another form of signature.
The eau de parfum are crafted from a range of ingredients found throughout Asia and historically used by Nikko Jirushi. The fragrances are distinctive yet familiar to those who recognize the scents of shuniku.
Three scents of Yuzuki, Souchong Journey and Kagamigoshi are available.
