Iga-yaki Cup

Iga-yaki is a style of pottery that dates back to the 8th century CE, and is said to have developed around the same time as another style, Shigaraki-yaki. Iga-yaki is best known for its high-quality earthenware pots (donabe), which are characterized by their exceptional resistance to heat and their sturdiness. Iga-yaki ceramics are made of high-quality clay in the Iga area of Mie Prefecture, which was once the lakebed of Lake Biwa, Japan’s largest freshwater lake.

There might be slight differences as each piece is handmade.

Chūbu
