Alongside yukata kimono, handheld fans, and kakigōri (shaved ice), coil-shaped mosquito repellent incense called katori senkō are an iconic part of Japanese summers.
This katori senkō is made of organic materials, mainly chrysanthemum flowers, which contain a natural insecticide substance called pyrethrin. The spiral shape of katori senkō allows them to burn for a long-time giving protection throughout the night against troublesome mosquitos, while the Japanese peppermint and white birch powder also contained in the incense produce a gentle frangrance that permeates the room in which the coil is burned.
Each coil lasts approximately 6 hours in a still environment.
Use it a well-ventilated area.
