Odanaka Koichi is a textile dyer born into a dyeing family in Shiwa, Iwate prefecture. He trained under Serizawa Keisuke, designated a Living National Treasure and mastered the stencil-dyeing method known as katazome.
This calendar features new katazome designs that are printed by Keijusha in Toyama.
This product was produced by the Teshigoto (handwork) Forum, an organization founded in 2002 to integrate regionally rooted crafts—supported by local history, culture, and technical traditions—into contemporary life.
