The design of this white porcelain kumidashi teacup was inspired by a visit to Ippodo Tea Co., a long-standing tea store in Japan established in Kyoto in 1717 CE. While yunomi cups are normally used for personal use, kumidashi teacups are meant for serving tea to guests. The simple, white colour of the porcelain accentuates the colour of the tea and the thinness of the porcelain is designed to provide an enhanced, pleasant feeling in the mouth.
Microwave and dishwasher safe.
The Kantō region is densely populated and home to a third of the country's population. It is centred around the nation's vibrant capital – Tokyo, formerly known as Edo, which has been the cultural, economic and political heart of Japan for centuries. Outside this megacity, there are mountains, onsen and ski resorts, magnificent temple complexes and excellent surfing opportunities within easy reach.
