This vial of natural, distilled water is carefully extracted through steam distillation from the leaves and branches of the Japanese peppermint, wa-hakka. The process of steam distillation involves no added alcohol or chemicals, ensuring the product’s purity. Peppermint is widely used in herbal teas, sweets and liqueurs due to its flavour and cooling effect, but its other properties as an insect repellent and deodorant also make it a common material for cosmetics and pharmaceuticals. The menthol contained within Japanese peppermint gives it a distinctive, refreshing fragrance that is ideal freshening spaces, or clothing such as face coverings.
