These furoshiki (wrapping cloths) are produced using a specialised dyeing technique. This form of hand-dyeing requires the patterns to be cut out by hand on paper stencils and the dye to be applied repeatedly in multiple layers to produce the desired colours. The process requires utmost care and precision, but results in fabrics decorated with extremely intricate patterns. This cotton furoshiki gets its name from its yama (mountain) pattern on a black sumi-ink colour.

Handwashing recommended. After washing, leave to dry completely. Leaving the product soaked in water for prolonged periods of time can cause the colour to fade.
