This glass pen is meticulously crafted by hand in Tokyo by the only remaining manufacturer in Japan to follow the techniques of Sadajirō Sasaki, who is said to have established the glass pen industry in Japan during the Meiji period (1868-1912 CE). Recalling the early days of Japanese glass pens, this exceptional writing instrument features a delicate glass nib combined with a bamboo barrel. Mastering the technique to create a functioning glass pen can take over 10 years, with particular emphasis placed on preserving the eight intricate grooves which act as capillaries, enabling a continuous flow of ink to the tip. Despite their ornamental appearance, glass pens are designed to be fully functional. Their glass construction enables easy ink removal, allowing for effortless colour changes if desired.

The set includes 3 pens with different nib width.
