For the past 400 years, traditions of porcelain making have been passed down in the small town of Hasami in Nagasaki Prefecture. Cherished techniques in combination with contemporary design have produced these salt and pepper shakers, simple in both form and function to fit today’s table settings. Their proven utility and the aesthetics of their vividly coloured stripes earned these items the prestigious Good Design Award in 1977.
