This rice scoop is handcrafted from azusa (cherry birch) and named after Miyajima Island, a small island in Hiroshima Bay. The shape of the rice scoop originates from the biwa (Japanese wooden lute) played by Benzaiten, one of the Seven Gods of Fortune and the central deity to Miyajima’s famous Daiganji Temple.

Soak the rice scoop in water before use to prevent rice from sticking.

Avoid leaving in direct sunlight.

Not dishwasher safe.
