Haze’s Warosoku Candles are created using the ancient Japanese technique of tegake-seiho, which involves applying wax in layers created from the fruit of Hazenoki (Japanese wax tree). Hemp charcoal, which is known for its purifying and relaxing properties, is dissolved into the wax. The wax is produced in Nagasaki and Fukuoka, and the wicks are crafted in Nara.

The candles cannot be used without a candle holder or stand containing a pin.

Haze

Haze candles are crafted in Kawagoe, Saitama Prefecture, using wax produced from the Hazenoki tree. The candles are handmade using an ancient candle manufacturing process, during which wax is applied in sequential layers. This creates a powerful flame that produces very little soot. The candle’s wick is separately made in Nara Prefecture from washi (Japanese paper), igusa (straw) and cotton.
