The earliest evidence of metalwork in Japan can be traced back to the Yayoi Period (300 BC – 300 AD) marked by ritual bells cast in bronze and iron farming tools. Today, Japan is well-regarded for its fine metalworking in the form of meticulously crafted knives, black iron kettles and copper pots for cooking. Our collection extends beyond these renowned items to include carefully textured tin, melodic brass wind chimes and sand-cast kenzan (flower frogs).
