Koishiwara Ware and Takatori Ware

高取焼と小石原焼
Koishiwara in Fukuoka Prefecture is home to two distinct ceramic lineages. Takatori ware, which began in 1665, combines techniques brought by Korean potters with local clay and Akadani stone. Koishiwara ware began later in 1682, when potters from Imari, a well-known pottery region, settled and established Nakano ware, the precursor of present-day Koishiwara ware.

Explore the carefully selected collection of Takatori and Koishiwara ware, produced across four established kilns.
