Doraku-gama

Operated by the Fukumori family, which has been passing on the tradition of making donabe (earthenware pots) by hand for eight generations, Doraku-gama is a pottery studio and kiln based in Marubashira Town deep within the mountains of Iga Valley, Mie Prefecture. Using the high-quality clay for which the area is famed, as well as specialized techniques, the Fukumori family creates earthenware pots which convey the family's connection to the land where they are produced through their excellent quality.
