Yama no Itadaki

Yama no Itadaki creates and sells products made of deer hide derived from the annual cull of thousands of deer in Iwate Prefecture, a measure necessary to control their population and reduce damage to forests and crops. Through the Yama no Itadaki project the deer hide that would otherwise go to waste, is instead used to generate awareness of living respectfully with the environment and to provoke a sense of gratitude and reverence towards nature.
