A high-top vulcanized rubber and canvas shoe in black, designed to withstand all weather conditions made in Kurume City, Fukuoka Prefecture.
These high-top shoes are produced by MoonStar, a footwear manufacturer with a history dating to 1873 when Kurume City, Fukuoka Prefecture developed a thriving rubber industry associated with the production of jika-tabi (a split-toe shoe with a rubber sole). Each shoe is assembled by hand and undergoes a vulcanization process which involves the shoes being baked in a kiln. This specialist technique leads to a soft and flexible sole with increased durability, which helps maintain its well-formed silhouette.
The hand-stitched, canvas upper of the Alweather RF model is protected by an extended rubber mudguard that is designed to withstand rainy, muddy, and snowy conditions. Representing a further development of the original Alweather model, the Alweather RF features a number of improvements, including a pull tab on the heel, a redesign of the lacing system to accommodate different sizing requirements, and adjusted placement of the overlapping rubber seams to avoid discomfort.
Alweather RF is also available in black and olive.
