Everlasting Fountain presents the drawings and doodles of Asano Tadanobu, with a bilingual text in Japanese and English languages from Asano explaining the beginnings and development of his artistic expression. The 500 works collected in this book are part of a series of over 3600 black-and-white drawings made by Asano since 2013, often created as a way of releasing stress and to kill time on film sets and during long waits between scenes. The book also includes a CD of his original album Kage no Oto, who has played in a band since his teenage years.
Actor, musician, and artist Asano Tadanobu (b. 1973) grew up in a creative family and began taking after-school art classes in kindergarten. As an artist, he enjoys capturing people engaged in various activities. He photographs himself working, sitting, and moving around, and then uses the images as the starting point for his paintings. Other than his professional career, Asano has been exploring a variety of avenues of creative expression, such as fashion design and music, the latter both as part of a band and as a DJ.
