£95.00per item
A small footed teacup by Takeshita Tsutomu, crafted in Tajimi City, Gifu Prefecture.
This small footed teacup is crafted by ceramicist Takeshita Tsutomu in Tajimi City, Gifu Prefecture. Its size is well suited to sipping small amounts of tea and is commonly found in Chinese tea sets.
Born in Nagano Prefecture, Takeshita studied ceramics in Tajimi after graduating from high school, where he later established his practice. His work is influenced by Joseon white porcelain, which he values for its warmth despite being porcelain. This sensibility is reflected in his pale blue tableware, which carries a gentle, refined quality. Takeshita describes his vessels as frames for food and drink, considering them complete only when they are used.
As each piece is handmade, there might be individual differences.
