青白磁切立湯呑 竹下努
A pale blue porcelain tea cup by Takeshita Tsutomu, crafted in Tajimi City, Gifu Prefecture.
This tall teacup is created by Takeshita Tsutomu in Tajimi City, Gifu Prefecture. It is the ideal size to enjoy every day green tea, such as sencha.
Born in Nagano Prefecture, Takeshita studied ceramics in Tajimi after graduating from high school, where he later established his practice. His work is influenced by Joseon white porcelain, which he values for its warmth despite being porcelain. This sensibility is reflected in his pale blue tableware, which carries a gentle, refined quality. Takeshita describes his vessels as frames for food and drink, considering them complete only when they are used.
As each piece is handmade, there might be individual differences.

The central Chūbu region is predominantly mountainous, home to the rugged Japan Alps with coasts on both the Sea of Japan and the Pacific Ocean. The region's history has been shaped by its strategic position between the great cities of Kyoto and Tokyo with Nagoya at its heart.
