Each gift box is wrapped in a furoshiki (wrapping cloth) that features a red and white motif — colours that symbolize celebration. The furoshiki is expertly crafted by Yamada Sen-I, a Kyoto-based producer since 1937 and supplier to department stores across Japan.
AO Incense – ASAGI
This AO Incense is inspired by a shade of blue called asagi. It is a colour associated with the Shinsengumi (Newly Selected Corps – a small group of low-rank samurai and commoners commissioned to protect shogunate representatives in Kyoto during the turbulent 1860s) and was an aspirational hue to the people at that time. The scent is inspired by strength and vibrance which is reflected in its floral and rich aroma.
Sasawashi Body Scrub
This Sasawashi Body Scrub is created from an organic textile made of washi (Japanese paper) infused with kumazasa (a native bamboo grass) flakes. The body scrub combines the lightweight durability of washi with the antibacterial and anti-allergenic properties of kumazasa.
Green Tea Soap by Sekkenya Reef
This Green Tea Soap from Hyōgo Prefecture is made with carefully selected organic ingredients and does not contain any synthetic additives or preservatives.
