Each gift box is wrapped in a furoshiki (wrapping cloth) that features a red and white motif — colours that symbolize celebration. The furoshiki is expertly crafted by Yamada Sen-I, a Kyoto-based producer since 1937 and supplier to department stores across Japan.
Bamboo Sushi Mat
This bamboo sushi mat is a versatile tool for creating makizushi (rolled sushi) and round tamagoyaki (rolled omelettes). It can also be used to wrap boiled food while it cools and for straining tofu or vegetables.
Small Bamboo Shamoji
This small bamboo shamoji (a paddle to serve rice) is a useful kitchen utensil designed to prepare and scoop rice when assembling sushi. The shamoji is steamed and burnished under high pressure, enhancing durability and increasing resistance against mould and insects.

Marushō Sushi Vinegar
This sushi vinegar is crafted from 100% natural ingredients. It has a base of rice vinegar seasoned with amazake (a sweet drink created from fermented rice), Rishiri kombu (a high-quality kelp from Rishiri Island, Hokkaido) and mirin (a cooking rice wine).

Bamboo Sushi Mat
For longevity of use, products made of bamboo should be dried overnight on a cloth after use and stored in a well-ventilated place with low humidity.
Small Bamboo Shamoji
Bamboo is a natural material with varying grains and patterns, individual items will differ.
Please do not microwave, put in oven, or put in direct flame as this will lead to warping and cracking.
Wash with a soft sponge and neutral detergent, wipe with a soft cloth and leave to dry naturally.

Marushō Sushi Vinegar
Due to the sugars in the vinegar, the vinegar can turn darker and change in aroma. This will not affect the taste.
