A hinoki (Japanese cypress) soap dish created in a wood workshop in Nabari City, Mie Prefecture, featuring a planed, water-repellent and quick-drying surface.
This hinoki (Japanese cypress) soap dish is expertly crafted in a wood workshop in Nabari City, Mie Prefecture, an area situated between the leading timber production regions of Tōnō in Gifu Prefecture and Yoshino in Nara Prefecture.
The fragrant hinoki is sourced from the region of Tōnō and has a uniform quality. The tree’s equally spaced growth rings lead to an even grain and minimal knots, enhancing its natural water resistance and durability, making it the ideal material for a soap dish. The surface is planed rather than sanded to preserve the grain of the wood, creating a water-repellent finish that is highly resistant to decay and which generates a distinct lustre.
Keep in well ventilated area to dry.
