A DIY kit made in Nara Prefecture for whittling a unique coffee measure.
This DIY whittling kit was created by Urban Ole Ecopark, based in Nara Prefecture, in collaboration with BSC Rainbow Works, a disability-inclusive workspace. Offering the unique experience of crafting a wooden coffee measure by hand, the kit contains locally sourced materials, tools for finishing, and easy-to-follow instructions.
Urban Ole Ecopark designed the kit in the hope that the satisfaction of learning a new skill will provoke a wider appreciation for woodcraft and foster a long-term relationship between the DIY maker and their own finished object.
Do not leave the wood in water over long periods and reapply beeswax to keep protected.
Hand wash and store dry.
The kit does not include a craft knife to whittle, however any standard penknife will be sufficient.
For ages 10 and upwards.
Materials include three grades of sandpaper, a pot of beeswax, a piece of beech wood, and two pieces of polishing cloth.
Size: L19.5cm x W1.5cm x H4cm
