This small earthenware bell takes the form of the zodiac sign for 2026, the horse, and depicts a mare and foal. The kanji for horse, 午 (go), also signifies noon and carries associations of maturity and prosperity.
In Shintō belief, the horse is regarded as a symbol of progress and success, guiding people on their journeys. The bell’s compact size makes it suitable for display on a shelf near the entrance hall to mark the New Year and welcome the Year of the Horse.
