Nikko Jirushi was established in 1905 as a shuniku (red ink) stamp pad manufacturer to accompany hanko (a name stamp for identification and signing legal documents). Their shuniku features a light fragrance and has long been used in offices to sign documents. The sixth-generation CEO, Kuzuwa Kentaro, noticed a correlation between the ingredients utilized for shuniku and those used for creating fragrances. This led him to develop the fragrance brand, EDIT(h), as a playful, wearable form of self-expression and identity, like another form of signature.
The eau de parfum are crafted from a range of ingredients found throughout Asia and historically used by Nikko Jirushi. The fragrances are distinctive yet familiar to those who recognize the scents of shuniku.
Three scents of Yuzuki, Souchong Journey and Kagamigoshi are available.
Souchong Journey
Souchong Journey was produced by French perfumer Suzy Le Helley, as a part of ÉDIT(h)’s second collection, La collection Remixes. Inspired by the fragrance Earl Grey from their first collection, Souchong Journey builds on the citrus notes of Early Grey and blends them with the smokiness of Lapsang Souchong.
