A tea cup with a rounded form inspired by a gourd, hand crafted in Mie Prefecture.
This tea cup is handcrafted in a shape inspired by a plump gourd. Doraku-gama, a family-run pottery studio in Iga, Mie Prefecture, makes each piece using clay sourced from the area.
Iga ware dates back to the Nara period (710–794). Its clay is rich in natural plasticity and known for its durability and resistance to heat, making it well suited for earthenware cooking pots.
