伊賀釉飯碗
A jade green rice bowl finished with Iga glaze hand crafted in Mie Prefecture.
This rice bowl is handcrafted in Iga, Mie Prefecture. Doraku-gama, a family run pottery studio specializes in donabe, earthenware pots and tableware to accompany the warming dish nabe, hotpot. The finish is an Iga glaze, translucent and glassy in texture, produced in a range of colours. Iga ware dates back to the Nara period (710–794). Its clay is rich in natural plasticity and known for its durability and resistance to heat, making it well suited for earthenware cooking pots. This rice bowl has a jade-green hue produced by high temperature firings.
