A handmade ink stick that produces ink by grinding it with water in an ink well.
This handmade ink stick produces calligraphy ink by grinding it with water against an inkstone. It is made from natural materials, charcoal, soot, and glue, which are compressed into a block.
Designed for calligraphy students, this fast-dissolving ink stick is also suitable for writing on washi (Japanese paper).
As it is made from natural materials, it can develop mould if left in a moist environment and crack if left in an extremely dry environment.
Once used, wipe dry and keep in a dry container.
May stain clothes.
