ななおT
A hand-crafted candle with an undulating form, created with plant-based ingredients in Nanao City, Ishikawa Prefecture.
This candle is part of the Nanao series, named after the city where the candles are crafted by hand. Designed with the theme of plants, the distinctive form is taken from the flora of the Noto Peninsula. Made of plant-based wax, the candles burn with bigger and brighter flames than regular candles and also produce less soot. The wick is created from wrapping washi (Japanese paper) around a rush grass centre. Ideal for candle-lit dinners and special occasions or just to engage in a relaxing mindfulness session or meditative yoga.
The Kantō region is densely populated and home to a third of the country's population. It is centred around the nation's vibrant capital – Tokyo, formerly known as Edo, which has been the cultural, economic and political heart of Japan for centuries. Outside this megacity, there are mountains, onsen and ski resorts, magnificent temple complexes and excellent surfing opportunities within easy reach.
