A set of 24 sheets of Kawaii Origami paper featuring the enduring designs of creative origami artist, Nakajima Taneji and reprinted by Cochae, a contemporary origami artist duo.
This Kawaii Origami was born from the fateful encounter with Cochae, a contemporary origami artist duo, and the work of creative origami artist, Nakajima Taneji (1894-1954).
Nakajima was instrumental in developing the world of creative origami during the Taishō era (1912-1926) in Kyoto Shimogamo. He designed playful prints of origami that would reveal a character or scene when folded accordingly. Cochae has been producing similarly graphical designs of origami since 2003 and brought back Nakajima’s origami as reprints.
This set of origami consists of enduring kawaii patterns which, when folded, become a variety of scenes or creatures such as monkeys, cats, dogs, and ogres, some of which can be worn as finger puppets.
