Masking tape designed with playful illustrations by minä perhonen.
These washi (Japanese paper) tapes feature minä perhonen’s distinctive illustrations from past collections. Each of which stems from observations of society and poetic representations of nature and are three different sizes.
Maguerite S– This design is from Autumn/Winter 2015-16, depicting the pure white flowers of Marguerite surrounded by vivid colours. The dancing flowers and distinctive colours catch the eye.
Hanaco M– This pattern is from Spring/Summer 2008, portraying flower-shaped clouds that align to fit into each other like a windmill wheeling slowly. The design also plays with scale as the flowers change size from big to small.
Swing L– This motif is from Spring/Summer 2013, where the illustration started as simple stripes of layered ribbon, incorporating the movement of the wind as it blows the ribbon and swings it lightly. It was designed in the hope that the dancing ribbon curls would inspire a feeling of weightlessness and playfulness.
