An award-winning stainless steel nail nipper made in Niigata Prefecture.
This nail nipper was made in Sanjō, Niigata Prefecture an area renowned throughout Japan for its high-quality metalworking. Made from the same high-carbon stainless steel used in Japan’s famously sharp kitchen knives, this item is both strong and rustproof. The nipper, which has a built-in spring mechanism, is made using a metal-casting process known as metal injection moulding. The lines of the handle are hand-polished, and designed to increase stability and ease-of-use. These nippers are said to be favoured by beauty professionals and medical clinics, as the alignment of their sharp blades provide a smooth, clean cut that doesn’t strain the nails. It has won the Good Design Award in 2020.

The central Chūbu region is predominantly mountainous, home to the rugged Japan Alps with coasts on both the Sea of Japan and the Pacific Ocean. The region's history has been shaped by its strategic position between the great cities of Kyoto and Tokyo with Nagoya at its heart. Niigata lies to the north while Mt Fuji can be found in the south in Shizuoka Prefecture.
