岸浪園の梅酒 青梅
Award-winning umeshu (plum wine) made with green plums, fresh and rich in flavour.
This umeshu is made using plums grown at the Kishinamien orchard in Miyagi Prefecture. It is produced by steeping 1.5 times the usual quantity of plums, resulting in a richly infused, full-bodied sake. The fresh, rich character of green ume (Japanese plum) is clearly expressed, and it can be enjoyed on the rocks or mixed with soda.
The umeshu was awarded a Silver medal in the Liqueur Category at the Catador World Wine & Spirits Awards 2023.

Tōhoku consists of six prefectures located in the north-east of Honshu island. This region is known for its hot spring (onsen) resorts, colourful festivals, remote sacred mountains and harsh winters. In 2011, the devastating earthquake and tsunami hit the region hard; however, the massive efforts in reconstruction are proof of the people’s resilience. Urushi (lacquer) ware, ironware and the crafting of kokeshi dolls make up but a few of the local industries in this lesser-visited region of Japan.
