Ōdai エッセンシャルオイル
100% natural essential oil, extracted from trees in Ōdai, Mie Prefecture.
These 100% natural essential oils are carefully extracted through steam distillation from trees in Ōdai, Mie Prefecture. Sourced from branches and leaves, the oil is harvested at specific times of the year aligning with the trees’ growth cycle to ensure sustainability. To retain the purity of the oils, branches are hand cut using saws and secateurs, avoiding contamination from machinery. The steam used in the distillation process comes from a tributary of the Miyagawa River, renowned for its fresh, clear water.
Perfect for aroma diffusers, a few drops will fill a room with the essence of shinrinryoku (forest bathing). The oils can also be added to a bath for a soothing experience or used as ingredients in hand-prepared body care products, such as fragrance sprays or hand creams.
The oils are available in hinoki (Japanese Cypress) and sugi (Japanese Cedar).
Hinoki – fresh citrus notes, with a hint of resinous aroma and herbaceous scent.
Sugi – a resinous woodiness with a touch of spice and a subtle sweet accent.
