This environmentally friendly mug is crafted from a blend of recycled soil and ceramics, that have been pulverized and mixed with fresh clay. The recycled ceramics come from broken tableware and products that were deemed unfit for sale due to cracks or other imperfections, but now, have been given new life as an aesthetically designed mug. The production process of these mugs follows the long-standing traditions of Mino-yaki porcelain making, however, the coarsely broken pieces of ceramics and soil give it a special texture and rustic appearance that mimics earthenware. In addition, the firing process incorporates ash made of pulp and lumber, further reducing waste and giving the mug a distinct character. Made with great attention to detail, this eco-friendly mug is a statement about the makers’ commitment to sustainability.

The central Chūbu region is predominantly mountainous, home to the rugged Japan Alps with coasts on both the Sea of Japan and the Pacific Ocean. The region's history has been shaped by its strategic position between the great cities of Kyoto and Tokyo with Nagoya at its heart. Niigata lies to the north while Mt Fuji can be found in the south in Shizuoka Prefecture.
