These vivid coloured, dustless chalks are sustainably produced in Kanagawa Prefecture. Made by recycling discarded scallop shells from the seafood industry, the chalk mainly consists of calcium carbonate, which lasts twice as long as regular gypsum chalk. The heavy particles of its composition prevents the chalk dust from flying, while also providing a smooth and crisp writing experience. Unlike regular chalk, the surface of these dustless chalks have been covered with a special coating, which keeps your hands clean when using them.
These product design features partly stem from the company’s efforts in providing a safe working environment for people with learning disabilities, who make up over 70% of their workforce.
Not appropriate for children under 3 years old.
