The Shoes Like Pottery High-Top Shoes with vulcanized rubber soles in black. Crafted by MoonStar, a footwear manufacturer based in Kurume City, Fukuoka Prefecture since 1873.
The Shoes Like Pottery High-Top Shoes are crafted by MoonStar, a footwear manufacturer based in Kurume City, Fukuoka Prefecture which has been producing shoes since 1873.
‘Shoes Like Pottery’ is a line of shoes by MoonStar whose name is derived from the manufacturing process, in which the rubber sole undergoes vulcanization in a kiln, akin to the firing of pottery. This specialist technique is performed by a select few manufacturers around the world and is carried out to produce a chemical reaction involving the sulphur in the rubber, enhancing the natural elasticity of the sole. The shoe’s upper is hand sewn by skilled craftspeople in high-quality canvas, and the sole is finished in their signature blue and features the MoonStar logo on the side in the style of a wax stamp.
The Shoes Like Pottery High-Top Shoes are also available in white.
