A silver-plated copper square soda spoon handcrafted by skilled metal artisans from Tsubame City, Niigata Prefecture.
This series of silver-coated copper cutlery is skillfully fashioned by the metal craftspeople at Kōbō Aizawa in Tsubame City, Niigata Prefecture, a region renowned for its metalworking industry. The minimal and contemporary design is plated in brushed silver, with the contrasting copper body left exposed at the end of the handle. The visible copper body and silver plating will naturally develop a patina as they tarnish over time, however their shine can be regained simply by polishing. The extensive range of cutlery can be used in a variety of settings, whether it be a formal dinner occasion or a casual coffee break.
This silver-coated copper soda spoon has an extended handle with a square head that can reach into tall vessels for desserts, useful for enjoying sundaes or ice-cream floats.
Handwash only.
Size: L19.2xW2cm

Tōhoku
Tōhoku consists of six prefectures located in the north-east of Honshu island. This region is known for its hot spring (onsen) resorts, colourful festivals, remote sacred mountains and harsh winters. In 2011, the devastating earthquake and tsunami hit the region hard; however, the massive efforts in reconstruction are proof of the people’s resilience. Urushi (lacquer) ware, ironware and the crafting of kokeshi dolls make up but a few of the local industries in this lesser-visited region of Japan.
