A carefully designed notebook that won the Kyoto Design Award in 2020.
These award-winning notebooks were born from a collaboration between established Japanese stationery producer Shogado and internationally acclaimed product designer Ryōsuke Fukusada. The notebook features high-quality bleed-proof paper, which makes it an ideal as sketchbook for pen drawings. The elegant design of the cover combines well known historical Japanese patterns with modern colour palettes. The complex patterns are applied to the cover by overlaying different colours on several stencil plates with additional silver and gold colours hand-printed on top to add depth to the composition. The pages of the notebook are bound together with a Japanese binding method using strong silver-coloured threads, in perfect harmony with the exterior patterns.
