These stainless steel nail files are crafted in Tsubame City, Niigata Prefecture, an area famous for its skilled metalworking heritage. Each file is produced by a craftsperson who repetitively strikes the stainless steel in a parallel motion to form each tooth. This thorough process is replicated to form three layers of teeth enabling the filing experience to be light in touch and smooth in movement. With a thickness of 1 mm, the file can get to hard-to-reach edges between the nail and the finger. Produced from one single sheet of stainless steel with no fixings, the form is robust and, unlike emery boards, the surface is hardwearing and durable. The pointed edge of the file is a characteristic shape for this manufacturer, and allows for the filing of nails which curve inwards and the cuticles of nails.
Clean with water and dry well.
The central Chūbu region is predominantly mountainous, home to the rugged Japan Alps with coasts on both the Sea of Japan and the Pacific Ocean. The region's history has been shaped by its strategic position between the great cities of Kyoto and Tokyo with Nagoya at its heart. Niigata lies to the north while Mt Fuji can be found in the south in Shizuoka Prefecture.
