An intricate laser-cut paper model of an autumnal scene designed by renowned Japanese architect Terada Naoki.
This paper model is inspired by a haiku poem by Shiki Masaoka, a leading poet of the Meiji Era (1868-1912): A few leaves, one upon another, autumn has come.
The model intricately depicts lovers standing on a bridge gazing at the vivid orange hues of an autumnal maple tree. Below, carp swim among the fallen leaves in the river. Designed at a 1/100 scale by renowned architect Terada Naoki, this DIY model draws from architectural modelling techniques, reflecting the origins of its concept.
