This incense set comprises a circular saucer produced from tin and a brass incense stand in a simple, elegant design which catches the eye. These items are crafted by Nousaku, a company based in Takaoka City, Toyama Prefecture, which is well-regarded for its long-running metal-casting industry which dates back over 400 years. Nousaku began producing items for Buddhist rituals and tea ceremonies in 1916 and has since branched out into creating stylish homewares and practical items for everyday use. Each Nousaku product goes through a series of intricate processes involving the pouring of molten metal into sand moulds, before they are finished at the hands of expert craftspeople, ensuring a final product that exemplifies attention to detail.
