日本の文様 1
A collection of motif designs inspired by historical Japanese embroidery techniques.
This book is a collection of Japanese patterns taken from historical hand embroidery techniques used on kimono. These techniques, originally introduced to Japan from China and Korea, are accompanied by step-by-step illustrations explaining each stage of the embroidery process. A significant portion of the book is devoted to a reference section of line-drawn design motifs, organized into scenes inspired by nature and subtle seasonal shifts. The wide range of categories includes auspicious symbols, flowers arranged in circular forms, and astronomical and terrestrial patterns.
Kurenai-kai is an organisation devoted to preserving historical Japanese embroidery techniques and sharing them through workshops.
