This book covers 17 major works of Atelier Tsuyoshi Tane Architects, an architectural studio based in Paris, led by a prominent architect, Tane Tsuyoshi. Tane’s core architectural concept ‘Archaeology of the Future’ explores the cultural context and history of any location where a project is to be built through extensive research. The process is deemed vital to the architect as it connects the past with the future as the memory of a place slowly becomes architecture.
The architectural process is introduced in three chapters, concept, images and drawings. The in-depth insights demonstrate the design philosophy of Tane, his distinctive methodology and how it materializes as architecture.
Tane Tsuyoshi is a Paris-based Japanese architect, and founder in 2017 of Atelier Tsuyoshi Tane Architects. During his career he has received numerous accolades, including Chevalier de l’ordre des Arts et des Lettres from the French Ministry of Culture in 2022, the Grand Prix AFEX – French Architects Overseas (2021 and 2016), the 67th Japanese Ministry New Face Award (one of the Minister of Education Awards for Fine Arts).
