Wind Chime Stand

Combining established metalworking techniques and contemporary design, this elegant wind chime stand is made by skilled craftspeople in Takaoka City, Toyama Prefecture. The stand is designated for wind chimes made by Nousaku, which are hand-cast from brass, a material used historically for Buddhist ritual objects and musical instruments, and resonate with a soothing tone. Each chime is one of a kind with slight differences in weight, texture and tone. The pieces are hand finished with a chisel, creating simple, unidirectional lines, marks of the craftsmanship that goes into these chimes.
