This porcelain renge spoon is made in Nagasaki Prefecture in the small town of Hasami, known for its tradition, over 400 years in age, of producing high-quality porcelain. Renge (lit. lotus flower) spoons are flat-bottomed spoons whose name comes from their resemblance to lotus petals. Their curved shape and deep bottom make them ideal for consuming soups and noodles, meaning they are often used for eating ramen in Japan. The smooth texture of this spoon’s glaze offers a pleasant mouthfeel, and the curved end of the handle allows the spoon to be hooked on the edge of the bowl when not in use, adding to its streamlined appearance.

Handwashing recommended.
Not microwave safe.
