Hasami-yaki is a type of Japanese pottery originating in Hasami Town in Nagasaki Prefecture. It has deep roots, dating to the early 17th century. As demonstrated by this long history, Hasami-yaki porcelain carries enduring appeal, stemming from its simple elegance which can easily find a place in a contemporary aesthetic.
Even with the introduction of some machine automation, 70% of this item’s production process is still done by hand. Through the efforts of skilled craftspeople each piece carries a one-of-a-kind mottled pattern, resembling oil droplets. Individual differences between the patterns on each item are created by a multitude of factors such as the ingredients of the glaze, the temperature inside the kiln, and heat distribution within it.

Microwave safe.
Hand wash only.
Due to the nature of this product, individual pieces may vary in shape, size and weight.
Sudden temperature changes may cause the bowl to crack.
