Scrubbing Brush

A handmade, high-quality, award-winning scrubbing brush from Tokyo.

£5.50 per item

The design of this scrubbing brush has remained unchanged since its release in 1907. The brush is carefully handmade using the fibrous husk of coconuts, known for their antibacterial properties. Using a metal wire in the middle, the brush is bent into a loop shape for better efficiency and comfort, easily fitting into the palm of the hand. Resembling the shape of a baby turtle the company has adopted the name ‘kame no ko‘, meaning turtle baby in Japanese. This highly versatile scrubbing brush is often used for cleaning raw vegetables or washing dishes. It won the Good Design Long Life Design Award in 2013.

As each piece is handmade with natural materials, the colours and shape might differ slightly.
