Cul de Sac was founded in 2011 by Muraguchi Mineko who was inspired by childhood memories of her family’s timber mill to create products from Aomori Hiba wood. Aomori Hiba, native to Aomori Prefecture in Japan, is revered for its aromatic, antibacterial and insect-repelling qualities. Cul de Sac creates its products by recycling cuttings and scraps from the family mill.
